GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
- There is a dropbox at the District Office window to collect Tadych's Marketplace (Econo Foods) receipts. Thank you to the Dollar Bay PTO for spearheading this program to help our school!
- THIS WEEK (March 6-10) is National School Breakfast Week, and Dollar Bay School is doing it BIG! Every day, something NEW and different will be offered for breakfast. There will be drawings and prizes for all students who attend breakfast between 7:45 and 8:20 every day of next week. - The annual DB-TC Talent Show will take place on Wednesday, March 22nd, at 6:30pm in the Auditorium. Come check out the talents of our Blue Bolt students!
- Congratulations to many of our student artists whose work is on display at the Copper Country Community Art Center in Hancock. March is Youth Arts Month and the following students have work that will be on display through the end of March: Isabelle, Kendall, Lenny, Zoey, Jinna, Liam, Kate, Trevor, Lois, Gina, Renn, Jenna, Amelie, Liza, Finn, Delila, Colleen, Claudia, and Eliud! - There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, March 10th, due to a Records Day. Classes will resume on Monday, March 13th, when we will kick off Trimester 3!

- There is a TOP Club meeting after school on Thursday (3/9) in the Activity Room.
- Reminder: Students taking CTE must attend their CTE classes on Late Start days!
- Congratulations to Mrs. Johnson and the DB-TC High School Band on their "1" (Superior) Rating at the MSBOA Band Festival at Houghton High School on Thursday! This rating qualifies them for the State Festival. Great job, Blue Bolts!
- If you are interested in attending the Learning Center with Mr. Seth on Wednesday afternoons, please stop by the HS Office to sign-up!
- Great job on meeting the goals set for our Trimester 2 Attendance Initiative! Students will get to choose between ice skating at the SDC, or a movie & popcorn party in the Auditorium. 9th-12th grade students will do their activity on Tuesday (3/7) from 1:00-3:00pm, and 6th-8th grade students will do theirs on Wednesday (3/8) from 1:00-3:00pm.
- This is the last week of Trimester 2! Middle and High School exams will be given on Thursday, March 9th. We will run on the normal school day schedule, and exams will be given in the following order: 5th period, 2nd period, 3rd period, LUNCH BREAK, 4th period, 1st period.

March is Reading Month!
There are so many fun activities planned for this month!
-Charlotte's Web will be our school-wide book to read this year.
-Students are challenged to read as many books as they can, and they will earn spiders for their locker spider webs!
-Book brackets will happen again, highlighting four awesome children's authors. Students will vote for their favorites until the ultimate best book (in our SPARKs' opinions) emerges at the end of the month!
- The Scholastic Book Fair starts next week, and runs from March 13 - 17.
DB-TC ATHLETICS
- The Copper Mountain Conference Basketball 2022-23 All Conference teams were chosen by coaches last week, and several Blue Bolts were selected! Ashlea was named to the Copper Mountain Conference Elite Team and Copper Country Division 1st Team, and Evelyn was selected to the Copper Country Division 2nd Team. On the boys side, Amos was named to the Copper Mountain Conference Elite Team and Copper Country Division 1st Team, Liam was named to the Copper Country Division 2nd Team, and Chase received Honorable Mention in the Copper Country Division. Congratulations Ashlea, Evelyn, Amos, Liam, and Chase!
- The Boys & Girls Elementary Basketball teams will be participating in the 20th Annual Hancock Elementary Basketball Tournament this weekend (3/10-3/11). Good luck, Sparks!
- The Varsity Boys Basketball team hosts L'Anse tonight in the first round of the District Tournament. The game starts at 6:00pm. Tickets must be purchased online through GoFan (link can be found here: https://gofan.co/app/events/930194?schoolId=MI69810 ). This includes students and those with season passes!
